God's Apostolic Church
District Elder Manuel Smith said on Apr 1, 2021 11:10 PM
Pergamos in Revelation 2:12-17 represents a church who compromised it's faith and truth in Jesus Christ for the sake of accommodating the society around it. The church embraced the gospel of Jesus Christ but the caveat was they wanted to hold on to their tradition of greek philosophy and idolatry which led to watered-down heretic teaching. Jesus addressed them on this matter in Revelation 2:14 "But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. V.15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate."
Anytime we attempt to "compromise or settle" on tenets of our faith such as repentance of our sins, being water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for remission of sin or receiving the gift of the holy ghost as stated in the book of Acts; the apostles' doctrine becomes less effective/impactful. The question below attempts to accommodate "Jesus only" teaching with "Trinitarian" teaching. They cannot co-exist. True believers in Oneness teaching will not compromise with Trinitarian teaching not matter what the conditions are. Short answer, a compromising church is a Pergamos church. I hope this helps and answer your question.

Pastor Smith and Minister Estella Smith, God is truly blessing the family at God's Apostolic Church. What a joy and privilege to baptize on Christmas Day. I'm sure the angels were rejoicing just as the shepherds rejoiced when Jesus was born. I'm so proud of both of you and love you greatly. Keep moving forward in Jesus. My life is better from knowing the both of you. Love You.
Dr. Christine Grant said on Dec 27, 2012 6:40 AM
Happy Birthday Dristict Elder Smith. What an honor to baptize someone on Christmas Day. Your theme for 2013 is great. We all must know our value to God and each other so that we don't take for granted the people God has in our life and that we don't think more highly of ourselves than we ought to. I have great expectations for 2013. Love you both.
